At this year’s Uffington Scarecrow Festival, St Michael’s presented a celebration of BBC’s “Songs of Praise”, bringing our community together as we shared musical memories & meaning.
We are thrilled to announce the top 20 hymns as voted by you, with the iconic hymn “Jerusalem” leading the way from day the votes opened to the moment they closed, finishing with 30% of the total votes.
Thank you to all who supported this event by suggesting their favourite ’Song of Praise’ & for voting; there were about 150 participants. Your engagement and enthusiasm helped make this event a memorable part of our annual festival. It was a joy to hear hymns & Song of Praise played by several organists, a band, adult & school choir throughout the Festival.
The festival’s success is a testament to the spirit of Uffington – a community that comes together to celebrate its traditions, music and culture and we look forward to more such gatherings in the future.
Stay tuned to our website for more updates and highlights from the Scarecrow Festival and other upcoming events in our village. Your continued support and participation mean the world to us!
