The festive season has well and truly arrived in Uffington, with the village now aglow with the spirit of Christmas.
On Saturday, a group of cheerful volunteers rolled up their sleeves for the annual church clean, readying St Michael & All Angels’ Church for the busy season ahead. From dusting pews to polishing brass, the team brought a sparkle to every corner, ensuring the church looks its best for Christmas services. Many thanks to everyone who gave their time — and elbow grease!
Adding a special touch of festive cheer is the beautiful Christmas tree now standing proudly in Uffington Village Hall. The tree was very kindly donated by Pat and Tony Lennon and expertly set up and decorated by Nick Kimberley. A heartfelt thank-you to all involved for this lovely gesture – it’s sure to be enjoyed by all who use the hall over the Christmas period.

Looking ahead, one of the highlights of the season will be the traditional Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols, taking place at St Michael & All Angels’ Church on Sunday 14th December at 6pm. This much-loved service promises an evening of familiar carols, thoughtful readings, and a real sense of community and wonder. All are welcome to attend – wrap up warm and bring friends and family!
As lights twinkle and preparations continue, it’s clear that Uffington is embracing the season with warmth, generosity and true village spirit.
