After more than 18 years of dedicated service to the Uffington community, much-loved postman Marc Waldren has officially retired. Known for his warm smile, efficient deliveries, and signature uniform of shorts come rain or shine, Marc was a familiar and cherished figure in the village.
To mark his retirement, Marc was presented with a beautiful print of Uffington, along with a collection from the community, which saw generous support from the many people whose lives he brightened over the years.
Speaking on behalf of the village, Yvonne Waterfall, Chair of the Parish Council, expressed heartfelt thanks to Marc for his years of hard work and dedication. “Marc was very much a part of village life, always delivering our post with speed and a smile. We wish him all the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Marc’s retirement marks the end of an era for Uffington, but his presence will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The village wishes him health, happiness, and relaxation in this next chapter of his life.
