There’s been plenty happening at Uffington Village Hall recently – from repairs and upgrades to new equipment and exciting opportunities for the community.
New digital piano now available
We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of a new-to-us digital piano, which is now available for use during hall bookings. Whether you fancy a sing-along, a music group session, or a quiet practice, it’s free to use – just like our popular table tennis table. A lovely addition for anyone feeling musical!
A big thank-you for your patience
We’d also like to thank all hall users for bearing with us while we tackled a couple of unexpected issues:
- Ceiling repairs were needed in two areas due to water ingress around the chimneys – caused by shrinking mortar seals. These have now been repaired, the ceilings re-plastered, and they’ll be repainted soon.
- While on the roof, the thatchers advised that the ridge will likely need redoing in the next few years.
- We also lost internet access after being “slammed” (a new one for most of the committee!) and we’re now waiting on a new account to be set up.
A huge thank you to Nick Kimberley for all his hard work managing these issues and keeping the hall running smoothly.
