Get ready for a royal celebration like no other! Uffington Village Hall, the Parish Council, the Cricket Club and the Church have joined forces to bring you a jam-packed itinerary of festivities to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
Over 200 metres of bunting has been lovingly hand-sewn to deck out the village in style, adding to the already buzzing atmosphere.
The fun kicks off on Saturday 6 May with a Barn Dance in the Corn Sheds (opposite Croft Farm). Bring your own drinks and snacks or indulge in a burger from 3 Daughters.
Entry is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained from https://app.tickettailor.com/events/uffingtonvillagehall/893068
On Sunday 7 May, St Michael and All Angels’ Church will host a Coronation Celebration Service at 11am, followed by bell tolling (as per His Majesty’s request). At the end of the service, we’ll pop open some fizz and invite anyone to ring the bell. The bell tolling will last as long as we need it to and will seamlessly flow into a delightful spread of cake, tea and coffee.
In the afternoon, head over to The Village Hall between 2-4pm for a scrumptious Sunday tea, where you can sample some delicious treats and share memories of previous coronations. We’ll even be cutting a 100-portion cake made by Treatley’s!
The party continues on Monday 8 May with a village rounders tournament hosted at the Cricket Club. You’ll need a team of 8 to sign up (or you can play with fewer) and there are no age restrictions. The cost is £5 per person and includes a burger (or equivalent) from the BBQ, which is being run by our local BBQ expert. To enter, simply gather your team, come up with a fierce team name, and register your team at https://forms.gle/iyk2GZx64riWvpvH6 or email mattbailey811@gmail.com
