Tra-la-laaa! Uffington’s Scarecrow Festival returns this May bank holiday

Get ready for a weekend of whimsical wonders as the Uffington Scarecrow Festival makes its much-anticipated return on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May 2025, from 11am to 4pm each day. This year’s theme, “Heroes & Heroines”, promises a delightful array of handcrafted scarecrows celebrating iconic figures from history, literature, and popular culture.

A sneak peek reveals that one creative villager has already crafted a marvellous Captain Underpants scarecrow – setting the tone for the imaginative displays to come! Visitors can look forward to spotting a host of familiar faces along the trail, including legendary leaders, literary icons, and beloved TV personalities.

There’s much more than just scarecrows to enjoy throughout the festival. Here’s what’s in store:

Entry is £5 per car, which includes a map, quiz sheet and programme, or £2.50 for those arriving on foot. All proceeds go towards supporting vital local groups and facilities, including the Village Hall, School, Cricket Club, and St Michael & All Angels Church.
